In this lesson you'll learn all about Coaching and Mentoring. We'll share with you definitions of Coaching and Mentoring and explore the differences between these and other professions. 

We'll also explore the benefits of coaching and the role and responsibilities of a coach in an organisational context.

In this lesson you'll learn why contracting is important, what it is and how to do it well. We'll also help you to understand how to remain ethical and non judgemental throughout your coaching and mentoring. 

In this lesson we talk you through how to structure a coaching or mentoring relationship and how to plan your sessions for success. 

We'll show you how to conduct a chemistry conversation and also how to use the pre-coaching questionnaire

In this lesson we show you how to use the pre coaching questionnaire to inform your work with your coachees and mentees. 

The pre-coaching questionnaire is a key part of the coaching and mentoring process as it orientates you and the coachee to the coaching you are about to do. 

Goals are the underpinning of successful coaching and mentoring so knowing how to set achievable goals is one of the coaches core skills

Here you will learn 2 goal setting tools that you can use in coaching. These are powerful tools that help to build awareness, deepen your coachee's understanding of their needs as well as starting to create mindset shifts needed for success. 

You also have live demonstrations of these tools so you can see them in action. 

In this lesson we explore the core coaching competencies that you'll be working towards as a coach. 

We'll share with you another key coaching tool, which you'll use to explore your own competencies, and it can also be used when you are doing coaching with your coachees. 

In this lesson we take a deep dive on some of the core skills of coaching. We look in detail at listening, observation and questioning and spend time refining these skills. 

We share with you what's different about the listening and questioning you do in coaching as oppose to other forms of conversations and you start to build your question bank to use in your coaching conversations. 

You also have some live demonstrations of different coaching techniques so you can see questioning and listening in action.  

In this lesson we introduce you to the GROW model, which is a framework for holding conversations with coachees and mentees.

We share with you why GROW is important, what is is and how it works. You also have live demonstrations of coaching to watch so you can see it in action. 

In this lesson we introduce you to learning styles and share with you information about how people learn, because this will influence how you coach different individuals. 

We'll also share with you some diagnostics which you can use tp help build your own self awareness and that of your clients. 

One of the roles of the coach is to provide your clients with feedback. 

Giving and receiving feedback is also a topic that many people want coaching support with. 

In this lesson we introduce you to the reflective practice and the role of feedback in learning and growing. 

Reflective practice is a core part of growing and developing as a coach, it's also a concept you will be helping all of your coachees to develop in their experience of coaching with you. 

In this penultimate lesson we introduce you to the role of supervision and record keeping. 

Supervision is an important part of your ongoing practice as a coach. If you plan to build coaching into your role or do more of it beyond work, knowing how you can access supervision for support and continued development is important.

In this lesson we also talk about record keeping, and some of the practicalities of coaching.  

To complete all the lessons and the activities within them, you could do one per week. So to get through the content will take you about 3 months. 

If you want to get your qualification you'll also need to complete 12 hours of coaching practice and write up 3 assignments.

On average we think all of this would take you between 6-9 months.

However, you have up to 3 years to submit your assignments so you really can take this one at your own pace. 

Part of the role your tutor will play is helping you to set a realistic timeline to reach your qualification based on your circumstances. 

To get your qualification you will need to complete 1 theoretical based essay on the application of coaching and mentoring in practice. 

You'll need to coach 2-3 people to get up to 12 hours of coaching practice, and you'll keep a portfolio of your learning from these coaching hours. 

Then lastly you will need to write an assignment reflecting on your skills and practice as a coach. 

There are comprehensive videos walking you through the step by step requirements of the assignments and your tutor is there to support you every step of the way.
